Communicate important information to your users by adding an announcement banner to the top of your Refined site. For example, a banner can inform users of scheduled maintenance or an upcoming event.

> ℹ️ Announcement banners from native Jira Service Management aren’t visible on Refined sites.

## Create an announcement banner

1. Go to the Go to the [Refined Administration](https://refined.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CLOUDDOCS/pages/4704244376).
2. Click **Sites** in the left-hand menu.
3. Select the site.
4. Go to the **Audience features** tab.
5. Scroll down to the **Announcement banners** section.
6. Click **+ Create banner**.

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Title**  
**Message** | Write your announcement. |
| **Location** | You can show banners on an entire site or on specific pages.<br>The announcement banner shows up on the selected pages plus all pages that are located below it in the [site structure](https://refined.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CLOUDDOCS/pages/4704240584). You can also set an announcement banner on the login page. |
| **Link URL**  
**Link text** | Fill in these fields to add a link to the right side of the announcement banner. |
| **Published** | The banner only visible on your site if this setting is turned on. |
| **Closable** | If this setting is turned on, users can close the banner. If the setting is off, the banner stays visible while users browse the site. |
| **Type** | You can choose one of four banner types: *warning*, *alert*, *info*, and *news*. The icon and banner color change depending on the banner type. |
