Now that your preparation is complete and you're confident about:  


- which Toolkit app(s) you need on Cloud
- the key differences between Data Center and Cloud
- how nested Refined macros will behave after migration
- any feature changes or limitations that may affect your content

you're ready to begin the migration process.  
  


> ❌ **Important:** Do not un-nest **Refined macros **nested inside Refined Step Container, Tab Container, or Expand Container macros before migrating. Doing so prevents the Legacy Content Macro from being applied in Cloud, and this cannot be undone after migration.
> ❌ 
> ❌ For **Atlassian and third-party macros**, you have two options:
> ❌ 
> ❌ - **Recommended:** Leave them in place and move them outside the Refined container after migrating to Cloud, since they won't render while nested.
> ❌ - **Alternative:** Un-nest them before migrating so they'll render normally after migration.


1. Install Refined [Macro Toolkit (Content Formatting Macros)](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211136/refined-macro-toolkit-content-formatting-macros?hosting=cloud&tab=overview) and/or [Refined UI Toolkit for Confluence (Page Builder, Navigation)](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1236998/refined-ui-toolkit-for-confluence-page-builder-navigation?hosting=cloud&tab=overview) on your Confluence Cloud instance.
2. Use Atlassian’s <u>[Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant](https://support.atlassian.com/migration/docs/use-the-confluence-cloud-migration-assistant-to-migrate/)</u> to migrate your Confluence DC instance to the Cloud.
